Basically I am making a grading sheet. I have two cells a predicted grade one and total grade one, these both contain the according grade i.e No Award, Pass, Merit or Distinction
I want to compare these so that it in a separate cell if for example there predicted grade was a pass and they got a pass, achieved and etc and if lower then not, how do I do this?
I tried to do a vlookup to a table I made putting a value to each grade i.e pass=1 say if it was < or > 2 they have a pass etc but it won't work, what do I do?

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
Welcome to the Forum,

If you have created the table can you copy it into your thread so someone can take a look at what you have done so far.

You can simply copy the table and paste to get it into the thread.

If you want to use VLookup your codes need to be the first column

example, I have named the first table Awards and then using the VLookup an also an IF statement if no code is present.
