Hi all, thanks for your help in advance

Essentially i have a spreadsheet I would like to minimise rows imported from the server, using group by.
Group by date could compress data down to 5%.

However I have around 30 columns and in one file more than 60. It is a bit tedious and error prone if I go one by one, add aggregation, add aggregation...
Is there an option to group by all?

Nik

If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
Ok, why do you want to minimise rows? Are you loading to the power pivot data model? I have Excel workbooks with 100M rows - no need to minimise what I load.

Hi, this is my source data (meant to say minimise number of rows). it needs to be as compact as possible, as everything else will be slowed down.
I need to download it to spreadsheet for easy trouble-shooting. Just a beginner and in early stage of the report.

You must have some supercomputer, how fast do your reports run?

I have an i5 3.0 GHz with 16GB RAM. I can refresh the pivot table in about 3 seconds. If your report is slow, the issue is probably the number of columns, not the number of rows.
