Hi, I am new to Power query and while I am able to use it for what I need to do, I can’t seem to figure out how to save a query for future use. I was wondering if it’s possible to save a query for future use just like saying a macro and running it in a different file. If yes, how do so go about it please. Thank you

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
Power Query saves the query in the Excel file it is located in. You could save it in a blank file and create a parameter for the path to the file you want to query. This will allow you to update the existing query with the new source file. Here is one example of how to achieve this.

Thank you for your quick reply. Your response is extremely helpful. Following the video, I got the error message below, do you happen to know how I can fix it

DataFormat.Error: The supplied folder path must be a valid absolute path.

I changed part of the pathname so that my office name isn’t on here. Thank you

I think it has to do with Sharepoint. I don't use Sharepoint, but I have seen some posts indicating that it sometimes does not play well with PQ under certain situations. You will need to do some research.
