I just migrated from Excel 2010 to 2013. In 2010, I developed several SQL data pulls via an outside SQL writer and pasted that into the Query Editor. The SQL tables refresh perfectly.
I attempted to replicate some of the logic in PowerPivot. It had immense difficulty on my 32-bit machine. I have no data limitations on 1million rows (my data sets rarely exceed 200,000 rows after I've written the SQL for them).
I post all of this as explanation for the following: Is there any reason I should migrate my modeling to PowerPivot - my SQL refreshes with pivots written on them are working fantastically. I'm having difficutly seeing the potential for improvement by using PP....
Thanks in advance for any advice.
