PowerPivot in Excel 2010 - Switch To dropdown box greyed out in Table Properties

I am using the PowerPivot for Excel 2010 add in at work.

I have a huge dataset, and working with the 'Table preview' mode in the Table Properties window seemed a bit tedious, so I switched to the 'Query editor' mode a few weeks back.

Now a colleague of mine needs to work with the data model, and he is not comfortable with writing queries just yet. And he wants to "Switch" back to the 'Table preview' mode. Unfortunately, that option seems to be greyed out/disabled.

This looks like it is a bug. And I'd like to know if there is something I could do the "enable" that dropdown box again. I don't want to tell my colleague that he just has to pull his socks up and start writing queries. I don't want to ask him to recreate the data model either.

I also found a thread that discussed this problem briefly, but didn't fully help me fix this issue: http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/power-bi/609666-modifying-powerpivot-query.html

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
You can't go back if you make changes in the query editor. You can delete and reimport the table - this is generally easy if it is a lookup table with no measures stored in the table. Much harder if you have 100 measures stored in a data table. Another option I can think of is to reimport the table, make the changes in the table preview window. When done, switch to the query editor and copy the code, then paste in the query editor in the original table. Not ideal, but could be a work around.
