Hi,

When creating a power pivot from two different excel files, all comma's and dots are ignored after importing or refreshing. For example:

In my excel file "Productivity", I have a column with percentages (also percentage format), and a column with time units (for example 0.3 of an hour). After I create a powerpivot, the decimal separators are ignored completely. For example:

Excel file

Power pivot

Productivity
Hours
Productivity
Hours

employee 1
85%
0.3
85
3

employee 2
70%
0.2
70
2

What I want is:

Powerpivot

Productivity
Hours

employee 1
0.85
0.3

employee 2
0.70
0.2

My settings:

Decimal separator: .
Thousands separator: ,

Language settings excel:
Editing Language: English (US)
Display and Help Language: English(US)

Powerpivot settings:
Language Options: Match Excel Language
Current Language: Inglés (Estados Unidos)
Model Language: Inglés (Estados Unidos)

Computer Settings:
Using Parralles to run Microsoft Excel 2013 on my macbook
The window's is set in Spanish (as I'm working in Colombia atm), however I changed the current location in "Regional Settings: to US (Estados Unidos). Same as the Format, is also set to US.

Could someone take a look and help me?

Thanks!,

Bibianne

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
That is strange. I could understand something going on with the percentages, where 85% and 0.85 are basically the same thing, but the 0.2 vs 2 I don't get.

Can you share a simple example of the problem, maybe using expirebox.
