Powerpivot - excel versions

I was wondering if the ideas i this book would apply to older versions of excel?

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
No, PowerPivot can only be used with Excel 2010 and DAX formulas can only be used with PowerPivot.
Note also that if running on Windows XP, the PowerPivot window uses a Toolbar and not the Ribbon - you only get the ribbon on Windows 7 - not a big issue as it is easy to get used to it.
