PowerPivot and PowerView in Office Professional 2013

I spent $400 on the Professional version of latest edition of Office to familiarize myself with PowerPivot and PowerView. However, they don't seem to be available. Are they only available with bulk, multi-license purchases, or can I use them with the version of Excel that I've purchased?

I'm an independent contractor. As such, I have no desire to spend money on licenses that I won't use just to get these two features.

Regards,
Mike

Save Often
If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
My understanding is that Microsoft has made those add-ins available in only a restricted number of Excel 2013 versions -- typically in a version with "Plus" in its name. For example, see Unable to use Excel 2010 PowerPivot workbooks in Excel 2013 - The Microsoft Excel Support Team Blog - Site Home - TechNet Blogs

If you are upset -- and that would be very understandable -- just remember I am only the messenger.

I, for one, do not understand how a company could take a feature available in the one release of a product (Excel 2010) and in the next release restrict it to a version that is much more difficult to acquire. But, apparently, that is what Microsoft has done.

Mike:

I just found this thread today but recently fell into the same trap. I was hoping you might have had some luck getting an upgrade/patch.

I wish I had some joy for you, Grant, but no such luck.

Microsoft has made some bizarre decisions recently. From the Metro UI to Windows phone and Surface to the whole kerfuffle around the new game console...
I think someone in Redmond might be sleeping at the wheel.

It's now available as part of Excel Standalone which can be installed on top of certain SKU's. Have you guys seen that?
