I am using Vista Home Basics and Office 2010. I,ve installed PowerPivot_for_Excel_x86.msi but it is not working in Excel 2010. One thing to be notify that I don't have share point server. What could be the possible reasons for installation failure?

When they said...
When they said you are going to "Excel at life", they meant you "will be doing Excel your whole life".
there could be a couple of reasons, what version of Powerpivot are you trying to install? are you not getting the Powerpivot Tab? have you tried going through the COM add-ins and checking if it was enabled?

I've also tried to add it. It goes through the steps, says it's added, I see it in the "add-ins" under "inactive application add-ins" but I can't get the tab to show up and its not listed in the check box when I go to "manage add-ins".
