Not sure which I should choose to study first. My current role doesn't require PowerBI or Tableau but I'm wanting to learn them via Youtube or Udemy or LinkedinLearning etc for future roles.

But which to study first? Is it common for business analyst/accountants to be familiar with both? Or is it more common to be familiar with one of these?

The only experience I have with PowerBI is from watching Mike Girvin's videos on Youtube. I have no experience with Tableau.

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Really depends on the company/industry you are working in. I have worked at 3 publicly traded companies and 1 privately held and they all used Power BI. I noticed when applying for some companies, they will say Tableau instead of Power BI. So it really depends on what company/industry you want to work for

Personally I would go for Power BI. Works perfectly with al other microsoft products, azure for example.

They say tableau can handle more data but this has improved on the pbi side as well. In my experience, they ask more for pbi skills.
