Hi!
Im new to power query and would love your help!
I have a date in YYYYMMDD format in cell B2, and would like to create a new column A to reflect this date in DD/MM/YYYY format. Is this possible? If so, how can I do this?
Thanks heaps

Excel Facts

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)
"I have a date in YYYYMMDD format in cell B2", then Excel and PowerQuery will read that as a date.
If you have TEXT formatted to represent a date using the format of "YYYYMMDD", PowerQuery will transform to the Date when you change the data Type.
If you mean to say that you have a number that represents a date using the format "YYYYMMDD", you can transform to Text, then make sure there exist another step, such as rearrange columns, and then change the data type to Date.

Unfortunately in that same column, I have numerical values. So I am unable to transform cell B2 to the "date format".
Is it possible to create a blank column A, then link column A cells to B2 so that the date "DD/MM/YYYY" appears in column A?

That is a design contrary to Excel's design.
Each column is a different "field" of data. Each Field should have only a single data type. This is before you get to working with PowerQuery.
You may be able to differentiate the data and switch them to appropriate columns.
