Power Query Error Message: External Table is not in the expected format

Hi,
I have a SharePoint folder where all the files are in .xls format, with multiple linked files that are currently active and in use. However, since yesterday I've been getting the following error message when I click on Binary to establish the connection.

Please advise how to overcome this issue.
