Hi Friends,

I was able to connect to source data when the file path is specified as C:\Test\test.pdf

but when the file path is specified as \\abc\aa3$\test\test.pdf , I got [datasource.error] Could not find the file.

I did quite a bit of research about it. majority of the solution is about "absolute file path vs. relative file path", which is not relevant to this case.

Can you help advise how to address this connection issue?

Thanks a lot!

If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
Can you access the file in windows explorer using the network path name? my guess is “no”. Fix that, and PQ should be fine.

Hi Matt,

The original source file can be opened through UNC file path. However, it cannot be accessed when the UNC file path is specified in the Power Query code. Power Query can only access the file path that starting with driver letter, like "C:\test\test.pdf" from my test.

Please correct me if my observation is wrong. and please kindly let me know to modify the Power query code to connect to the UNC file path.

Thanks a lot!
