Hi,

When trying to load a table into the Data Model using Excel 2013 I get the following error message:

"Unable to cast COM object of type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.WorkbookClass' to interface type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel._Workbook'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{000208DA-0000-0000-C000-00000000046}' failed due to the following error: Error loading type library/DLL. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80029C4A (TYPE_E_CANTLOADLIBRARY))."

I've tried searching on the web and found a suggestion to delete certain keys from the Windows registry but this hasn't worked.

Thanks,
Mark

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Yikes! I hope to never see that error on my machine!

Do all table loads fail or just one?

I think you'll need to send a frown to MSFT with the underlying data. I assume you've tried rebooting, unchecking the PowerPivot add-in, saving, closing, restarting, checking the add-in, all that stuff. Nobody likes uninstalling and re-installing Office but that's always an option.

Two observations: if you're running 32-bit Office and can upgrade, try moving to 64-bit. Also, if you're in a corporate environment you might check with your IT department to see if they've set group policies that limit installations and updates for Office. Their installations and privileges might be out of synch.
