I am trying to make an easy to update power pivot table. I currently have 1 external source from access(that updates weekly) and one from excel(stays the same) but when i put both into power pivot it keeps them in separate sheets, is there anyway to combine these sheets so i can create charts from this data. thanks!!

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
Have you connected the two data sets via a relationship? If there is a common field between the two where a one to one or one to many relationship exist you can establish a relationship between the two. Once you have established a relationship you can create tables and charts with the combined data from the two data sets, they will still appear as two data sets in your field list but they can be combined into one analysis.

No but i will try to establish a relationship and report back. For more detail the access data has 20 columns of data but i am filtering the 5 i need, while the excel only has 5 columns both with the same column labels and data type. First of all is it still possible to establish this relationship with the filtered access data? And secondly once the relationship is established will there only be 1 field in the pivot table options as opposed to the 2 im getting now.

You almost certainly do NOT want 1 table in the power pivot model. Keeping tables separate is one of the benefits of power pivot.
