I recently started a job where power pivot is being incorporated for reports. The person that held the job previously built charts and reports using power pivot. When I came in and tried to edit the information it gives an error that the operand after the operator is missing. If I try to build an entirely new workbook it gives an error that the SELECT statement contains reserved words, misspellings, or punctuation (something to that effect). I've attempted to google possible reasons why these things are happening and the only thing its returning involves SQL which is above my skill level at this point. Anyone experienced this? From what I've read I should be able to easily import my excel spreadsheet into power pivot and I'm not having any such luck.
Side note: I'm pulling the information, highlighting all numbers with an error and converting to numbers, then copying the data into a separate workbook that manipulates the data (vlookups, average, sum, etc.), once it completes the calculations I then copy the information and paste it as values and save it. I've saved this document as a comma delimited file, tab delimited text file, and of course an excel file and they just aren't importing.
