Hi everyone,

I have a list of path files in my excel sheet and sometimes these paths change for whatever reason. Is it possible to find the new file path location automatically based on the last known old location?

Regards,
Bassie

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Are you saying that you want to find out where each of the files is now?

Does each file have a unique name?

I would like to know where the files are even if the file name or file path changes. Not sure if this is even possible

It is the file name and it's path that identifies it.

The combination of these two represents a unique reference.

I don't think that it is possible.

Thats what i was afraid of sadly. Is it also not possible to add a categorie or label to the file to make it unique?

It is the combination of the file name and it's path that are the label and it's category in effect.
