So I gather my thoughts and type out all the info I believe will adequately describe my problem so that everyone can understand where I'm coming from.

Upon receiving feedback, I realize I had initially asked the wrong questions and now I've wasted the time of users who are trying to assist. Is there a way to edit my original post to reflect the corrections? If not, what's the best way to approach this problem? Should I re-post with updated information?

Thanks all,
Jeff

Just enter your question again here just like I have done it's just a new post to the same thread.
You can only edit post's within 10 minutes.

Just in addition to what My Aswer Is This has posted...

even if it is within the 10 minutes editing time (and I think I remember seeing that new members don't get the 10 minute editing time now... part of the anti-spammer measures put in) if you have received replies then you are better off still doing a reply as My Aswer Is This has proposed as

a) it can mean the replies will make no sense anymore
and
b) the repliers probably won't notice you have changed the question.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Lessons learned:

1.) fully understand what it is that i'm seeking before asking
2.) edits are best kept to a minimum

Thank you for taking the time to respond and also for the tip:

"Test VBA on a copy of your data (remember you can't normally reverse the action)"

I had not thought about this and being a beginner, I probably would have made this mistake on something important!

Thanks a million
Jeff
