Hi all,

Sorry if this is confusing at all but I could do with some help.

Drawing Type Type Drawing Number
- E - Exist -E301 'Electrical proposed drawing
- M - Prop -M101 'Mechanical Proposed Drawing
- M&E -ME201 'Mechanical Proposed Drawing
-EX301 'Electrical existing drawing
-MX101 'Mechanical existing Drawing
-MEX201 'Mechanical existing Drawing

I was wondering whether I am able to produce a Drawing Number based on what has been selected in the drawing type and type combo box so if "E" and then "Exist" the numbers displayed are E301, E302, E302 etc

Thank you any input is appreciated.

Hi Oliver - it is confusing (to me anyway) - can you install XL2BB and then use it to post your data in a format we can look at? You get a link to XL2BB from the link above the reply area.

I don't really understand the XL2BB so I have screenshotted my userform.

At the moment I have programmed one form for each discipline (Mechanical, Electrical and Mechanical and Electrical)

What I hope to achieve is after the first two combo boxes have been selected then the drawing numbers displayed are to represent what has been chosen

the numbering system works like so

Mechanical Proposed M101....
Mechanical Existing MX101....

If "M" and "Prop" are chosen only M numbers are shown
If "M" and "Exist" are chosen only MX numbers are shown

M&E Proposed ME201....
M&E Existing MEX201.....

If "M&E" and "Prop" are chosen only ME numbers are shown
If "M&E" and "Exist" are chosen only MX numbers are shown

Electrical Proposed E301....
Electrical Existing EX301....

If "E" and "Prop" are chosen only E numbers are shown
If "E" and "Exist" are chosen only EX numbers are shown

I hope I have managed to simplify what I am asking

Oliver
