Is there anyway to create a pop up pick list for a form in access? If so, please point me in the direction of how to make one.

Thanks

Excel Facts

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
Are you referring to a combo box? If so, there is a Combo Box Wizard which will pop up when you drop one onto a form.

Actually what I want to do is have a pop up window that would show what entries are valid for a particular textbox on a form.

OK, describe exactly what it is that you're looking to do; where would your data come from? A table? Or would you be populating it manually? What is the text box doing and what would be valid for it? Give a bit more information and I'm sure that we can give you a hand.

I have three tables that hold customer issue (problems) codes. The first table is the top level, the second table is a sub level related to a code on the first table and the third table is a sub level related to a code on the second table. I already have a form that has three combo boxes that filter the second and third level options depending on the choice of the first and second level combo boxes.

When a new issue needs to be created, the user opens that particular table in a form and adds the new issue and the related parent code. I was trying to make it easier on the user, by having a pop up pick list of valid entries for the parent code right in front of them. That way they wouldn't have to go to the form for the parent table to see what the codes were valid and available.

What I wound up doing was, I created a small read-only, vertical scroll form that would allow the user to see the valid entries. It opens and closes on the main forms load and unload events.

Any suggestions on a better way would be appreciated.

Thanks
