Hi Bill,
In this podcast you mentioned in an aside that you can attach a tool bar to a specific workbook as a new feature. If I am not mistaken this feature was availalbe in previous version of Excel under Tools>Customize>Toolbars>Attach :)

The new feature is to actually attach certain icons to the workbook. So, someone might have 10 icons in their Excel 2007 Quick Access Toolbar. You can then designate that when workbook A opens, it would temporarily add three new icons to the right side of the Quick Access Toolbar.

I actually like your trick better, because then I could have the icons appear on a floating toolbar dedicated to the workbook....
