podcast 245?

i am not sure if this is the right spot for this?

I was trying to watch podcast 245 about subtotals and adding a name but i can't get any further than the titles and it is something i have been wanting to know for along time as i subtotal every day....

can anyone help me out?

If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.

Briefly, here is the technique discussed in the episode:
1. You have customer # in A, Cust Name in B, and data in C.
2. You add subtotals by Customer # in A.
3. You want to fill in the blanks in column B. Select from the first customer subtotal line down to the last customer subtotal line, in column B.
4. Edit - GoTo - Special - Blanks
5. Type an equals sign. Type the Up Arrow key. Type Ctrl+Enter. This will fill all of the blank cells with a formula that points to the cell above.

I usually then Copy & Paste Values to convert the formulas in B to values. One gotcha is that you have to reselect the data in column B, since you can not Paste Values on a non-contiguous selection.
