Please help! I have to finish this by tomorrow. How do I plot Date/Time vs. Temperature? I have a column of cells formatted like "1/1/2017 12:00:00 AM CST" and the other column simply temperatures "88.98468" I need temp on y-axis and date/time on x-axis. The times are in 5 minute increments.

Here is what my data looks like (Except it goes on for 3 months)

Excel Joke
Why can't spreadsheets drive cars? They crash too often!
Hi qwaszx,

1) You should try removing " AM CST" suffix from the whole column A, in order to force Excel to recognize these fields as date & time. Make sure that the cell format is now set to "Custom" (dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm).
2) Select both columns A & B and create a Scatter chart (instead of a Line chart), it should properly present the data.
3) You can now format your new chart -> remove the Marker and add a Line in order to connect all points.

Hope it helps.

I have tried this and the dates on the x-axis appear wrong. The dates show as 00/01/1900 22/06/1905 and other random dates. How do I correct this?

Hi, sorry for the delay - I am based in UK.
Let me know what Cell Format you have in column A (the one with dates), and also what is the format of X-axis (date axis) on your Scatter Chart?
