Hi

I've got a list of data in Excel, actually the number of holiday bookings by destination country, and I'd like to plot this on a Map of the World.

Does anyone know of any tools that might help me to do this? Ultimately I want to put the Map on a Powerpoint slide.

thanks for any assistance

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
I do this using MapPoint 2004 (and 2006).
You can probably get a full version of MapPoint 2004 (Europe version) for about £40 but of course the maps may be a little out of date.
I would advise against MapPoint 2009 as there are only about 46 pushpins available (2004 and 2006 had 336 pushpins). MapPoint 2010 has 348 pushpins (Microsoft must have realised their big mistake!) but the latest version is much more expensive.
If you search the Podcasts you will find some excellent examples - try the following link.

It is possible to run MapPoint from Excel VBA but you will only find two books on the subject.
Try also www.mp2kmag.com for useful information.

Excellent, thanks for that.

I've got a feeling that I have a copy of Mappoint somewhere although I'm pretty sure it's older than 2004. I need to plot by country so hopefully it's not too out of date. Anyway, I'll have a play if I can find the disks

thanks again
