Please refer me to a website where I can ask how to program the PF keys on my pc at work. I am using MS Windows XP Pro Version 2002, Service Pack 3 on a Dell desktop PC.
They are a few fields I need to type in the same information many times each week.

If I can program my pf keys to hold a certain character string, it will save me many keystrokes. I spoke to our IT Dept. head, and he mentioned if I install software to program the pf keys, I will disable the pf keys' functions in many MS products, like PF1 = help in Word, for example.

I realize this is an Excel message board, but I don't know any other reputable
websites to ask a computer question.

Thank you in advance.

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)
Welcome to the Board!

Excuse my ignorance, but what's a "pf" key?

If you're using Excel for the data entry you can probably reassign the keys with ON KEY, then reset them when you close out.

I'm sorry, I did not make it clear.
Near the top of the keyboard there are keys labelled F1 to F12.
Since they can be programmed by mainframe users, they are sometimes
referred to as "PF keys" which is short for program function keys.

I'm not using Excel to enter data, but I figured someone at this board could recommend a website where I might ask a question about programming the F1 to F12 keys.

If you happen to know of a website as good as this one, but not necessarily
related to Excel, please let me know.

Thank you in advance.
