hey all, so i am using Minted, a service that creates wedding invitations and also handles addresses.
the issue is they have a proprietary template that must be filled out and uploaded for the address to format correctly and it differs somewhat materially from my master list of addresses in Excel.
i am hoping that with the power of Mr. Excel members, we can somehow figure this out (it shouldn't be terribly hard).
so, let's start with my file. it's a master list formatted as follows:
Col A: First Name
Col B: Last Name
Col C: Guest First Name
Col D: Guest Last Name
Col E: Child 1
Col F: Child 2
Col G: Street
Col H: City
Col I: State
Col J: Zip
now onto Minted's template format:
Col A: Name
Col B: Street Address 1
Col C: Street Address 2
Col D: City
Col E: State
Col F: Country
Col G: Zip
now this really shouldn't be terribly confusing but where i get tripped up is:
some of my guests are married and share last names (i.e. John and Mary Smith) and thus my file is laid out as John | Smith | Mary | Smith. i assume some type of IF Statement might work here
some of my guests are in relationships and do not share last names
some of my guests have children or there are a few people invited from 1 household (Minted states the following: for long names or listing out multiple recipients, you can enter use the "Street Address 1" field as a second name field. Then, enter the street address in the “Street Address 2” field. )
so, you can see where this gets slightly tedious.
anyway, hoping you guys might have a quick and easy fix/formula that would help me out here.
thanks!
