Are the pivot tabes in Access similar to what is used in Excel?

Hullo. Not really, but there is something called a CrossTab query. With that, you can mimic, to a certain extent, the PivotTable. There is no "click in drill-down," however, but I don't think that's really a big loss.

Make a new query, and check out the CrossTab Wizard. You may find it fits the bill.
