Pivot tables?

I have just discovered the Pivot table function. Is it possible to make it just report actual information from the spreadsheet in this field instead of functions of it (e.g. Count, Sum etc)??? Pivot tables do exactly what I would like to do in terms of sorting data from several sources, however all I want it to do is repeat the original rows. I would really appreciate some help!!!

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
I have often wondered the same thing. If only the pivot table would allow a "None" option in the aggregate funcion list! This would have been ideal for plotting families of x-y plots (for different z's) from database-style tables, for instance.

My workaround is to select 'average', which is the only function that does not mess up your data too much. (Unless you have two or more data points with the same x and y, in which case the two points get collapsed into one point in your pivot table).

So selecting average may work for you if it's the general trend that you want to display.

If the rows all have different names it should be ok.... shouldn't it? The only problem is that some of the fields are text!!

"The right tool for the right job!" If all you want is a listing of your data then use SQL rather than a PivotTable.
