pivot table refresh data issues

I don't even know if I know how to ask this question correctly because I've never seen this happen before. I have a spreadsheet with AR data as of 6/30/19 lumped in a pivot table. I changed the AR data to reflect balances as of 9/30/19 and then right clicked on the pivot table and refresh data, but none of the data is populating when I do that. would there be any particular reason why? the pivot table fields are correctly marked, but it changes from 9198 rows of data to this:

Sum of Balance Column Labels
Row Labels Added DM
(blank)
Grand Total
 

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
