pivot table percentages

hi - new to using pivots.

i have got to grips with them quite well but need to present a filtered cell as a percentage of an entire field e.g. % of bagels as % of all breads. when i go to change show values as % of it will only let me do it as % of a base item but there are thousands of figures in the base field and i need to do the % as the sum of a base field.

is this possible?

put some example raw data up with what you want the output to look like please

what is % of bagels as % of all breads ???

do you mean what is bagels over all breads as a % eg 3 bagels 7 sourdoughs bagels is 30%

This is a case where you may want to apply filters to the Pivot Table... (you might be thinking filters are always on for a Pivot Table.... but
If you navigate to the cell 1 column to the right of the right-most Pivot Table header cell, then activate the Filters. The Values column will now have a filter option from which you select your desired values and this will hide rather than remove (and change your base sum amount.)
