Hi, I have a pivot table with dates in, I want it to sort by oldest to newest, but it won't do it.

I've checked the original data and all dates are formatted as dd/mm/yyyy (using format cells)
and I've done text to columns (using 'delimited' then no delimiters selected then Date: DMY)
but still no luck.

Below is an extract of the PivotTable...
20/09/2023
05/10/2023
21/07/2023
08/10/2023
29/03/2025
30/08/2023
25/02/2024
02/01/2024
26/06/2024
19/02/2024

Anyone any ideas how I can get it to sort dates?

Thanks

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Show a screen-shot of your data. And also show a screen-shot of your PivotTable.

Difficult to determine without actually seeing the workbook. Having said that, recently have seen issues with PTs that have dates that are formatted/input/imported that are text. Try re-formatting your "date" field as dates. You may have to use the Text to Columns method to ensure that they are dates (which are really numbers 1 up from 1/1/1900).

On the back of what alansidman has said ... once you know your dates are real-dates, then recreate the PivotTable from scratch, to make sure there is nothing wrong in the PivotCache causing problems.
