Hi all

I have issue with filtering item after adding new calculated item. Let me briefly explain my problem here:

suppose I have four company a,b,c,d which are in 2 regions, lets say, a,b in A, c,d, in B.

My data source is something like this:
year company region sales
2014 a A ***
2015 a A ***
.
.
.
.
.
2015 d B ***

when I create the pivot table, I put region into filter, company into row label and year into column label. What I wanna see is the difference so I add a new calculated item "2015" - "2014". Then the old problem happens. Even if I filter by the region, all companies appear. I understand that I can apply a value filter on my row label to remove all 0 record (so that those irrelevant records are moved) . However, if I have a case that for example, company "a" didn't have any sale in 2015, when I filter by region A, this company is going to be hidden with "c" and "d" as well.

Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks

I've not found a solution for this! :-(

I get round it by splitting the sales field into 2 new fields...
2014 Sales and 2015 sales.
PTs then work ok,
You can you create calc'd field like YoY Variance with no issues.

I try to avoid Calc'd items.

This is so silly....Like how could MS not be able to overcome this issue over like a decade.....
