Is it possible to link an existing pivot table to an external data source? I wanted to move the data out of the workbook but didn't want to redo my pivots.

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
Can't you simply move the data to a new workbook, and then move the PivotTable to the same new workbook?

Just to clarify what I mean by 'move', I mean right click on the sheet --> Move or Copy --> New Workbook or select from the list of open workbooks.

Ben, Right now the data is sourced against excel data sheet but I want to source it against an access data base (via external connections). Am I over complicating this? Please tell me I am :)

Honestly, I don't know. Never used Access, and I didn't understand that from your question.
