Pivot Table Help Needed

I have a pivot table (in tabular form) that works perfectly fine except for one little thing – every single column (except the last column immediately to the left of the numbers/values) has a box to click on to expand the data when there is no additional data to expand. It’s the little box with either a plus (+) or minus (-) sign. Regardless if I click it or not, nothing changes. How do I remove these little boxes that are showing up in the Row Labels section of the pivot table?

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
Try pivot table options , "display" tab, then reomve the tick for "show expand/collapse" buttons"

That works - Thanks! Also, I have a follow-up question on the pivot table. I have several dates listed. When I click the column header in the pivot table I'm using, it lists out all the dates one at a time. Usually when I do that, I get them automatically group by month and then I can expand down to the day if needed. I think it may have something to do with the formatting of the dates in my data section, but I already tried to format them as "date" and it's not solving the issue. Any thoughts?
