Pivot Table Grouping by month instead of Day

Hi all,

I have a table with a Date Field, each date is individual. When I add to a pivot table, it automatically sums or groups by month, instead of day. It is analyzing waste data from machines, there would be one record per day per machine that I want to see in tabular form.

I cannot work out why it would do this and wouldn't do this by individual date?
