Pivot Table Date quandry

Hi, I need to create a pivot table that for its time measurements would compare year over year which isnt that difficult, but the kicker is I need it to do to the nearest exact measurement of time for each year. IE Sales thru 3-5-08 versus 3-5-08 and I have fiscal years of measurement not calendar- its for July 1 2007 to June 30th 2008 as one fiscal year and July 1 2008 to current days as the second - any ideas
