Hello
In Chapter 1-4 sample data.xls, could you explain the headers: Store, In Balance Date & Days in Period ? Also, in Chapter 3, Running Totals, you select an option named "Years" in text heading "Display Change from Year to Year with Difference From" whereas in the file, the data exists only for MONTH. Could you please provide data for YEARS?
Thanks for writing this excellent detailed book.

Excel Facts

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
Store is a Store Number - in the example, the data set is sales data for a chain of stores.

In Balance Date is simply a date when the sale took place.

Days in Period is not actually used in the book at all - it is stray data that often exists in data sets.

To add "Years" to the dataset, read "Grouping Date Fields" on pages 91-93".

Thanks for your note.
