Pivot Table - Data Area

Hi,

I can't get the data area in my pivot table to show some results for each month of the year. The results relate to harsh braking and the source data shows the value as 0.62 /Hr, for example.

The data area for all my results shows a 1 instead. I'm assuming this is because the source data contains the /Hr part. I created a helper column in my source data so my result displays as 0.62, but i still can't get this number to feed through to the data area section. I can get the number to appear as a row or column, but not in the data area.

What am i doing wrong?

Thanks,

Excel Facts

Enter current date or time
Ctrl+: enters current time. Ctrl+; enters current date. Use Ctrl+: Ctrl+; Enter for current date & time.
I'm not sure if this will help or not, but I was also having trouble with Pivot tables. My solution was to make sure that each set of data had a header/title up the top - then to include this when selecting a data range for my pivot table. Hope that helps.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your reply. I have done this and believe my source data is formatted and titled properly. I have other source data which shows fine in the data area, just not this specific one for some reason.
