I have become reasonably adept at Excel over the years - mainly thanks from Mr Excel. However. I am a novice with Pivot tables. I am trying to extract & analyse product costs from 50k plus (and growing) rows. I also need to make it as simple to operate, using Macros & VBA if necessary as my boss does like Excel & can have a very short fuse
The key columns are a W/o #, a product code, an item (material) code, the manufacturing qty, the material qty's and total & per unit manufacturing costs plus a date. There are other fields but not relevant. Each product code may appear multiple times & its composition (of items) may vary a little. Item costs also vary.
What I want out is a list of products with the manufacturing cost, quantity & date. Where a product has been manufactured multiple times, the average cost & total quantity; ideally max & min costs with each batch individually identified.
All the help I have been able to find has been very much introductory & seemingly of little use in this case
Thank you
