I have been using a pivot table for the past 2 years and today it stopped working. I had updated the dates for the new year and thought maybe I did something wrong there. When I try to update the table, I get the "This PivotTable field isn't available because it exceeds the total number of characters that the cell can contain" error message. I save each weeks report, so I thought Id go back to a previous weeks and use that, and I get the same error. I went back further, upto the full 2 years and every time I try to update the reload (not changing any of the data from the that time, I just reload the data) it gives me the same error message. Its been working fine until now. This was the first time I've used it this year. Can someone help? There are no cells that are even close to coming up to the 256 limit. I even recreated the entire spreadsheet and when I create a new Measure (so to display the data instead of calculating the data) I get the same error. On the last version, I was able to get it to work but I was limited to only 2 stores displaying (via filter), any more and I would get the error. Didnt matter what stores, any combination would give me the same result.
Has there been any kind of update to 365 that would cause this error???
