Hi,

I'm hoping for some help.

I have a number of headings (Planning, Design, Build, Test, and Service Transition to Operations). Each of these headings have a duration associated with them as a figure in days.
I would like to represent these Phases as segments within a Pie Chart as labels within their segment.

Any ideas would be most appreciated.

Thanks, Rai

Hi, and welcome to the board.

I assume that the reason you've posted the question is because you have the number of days integrated into the headings? If so there are a number of ways to accomplish what you're after.

1) Use a set of helper cells with the values to create the chart
2) Use the headings as they are to create a blank chart, then edit the series and place the values in manually: ={15,10,39,23,8} for example. This would be my preferred way of doing it if the values in the headings don't change.
3) Use custom number formatting on the headers as a mask to the numbers beneath. Looking at your headers I don't think this would be ideal

How you go about the options will depend on the version of Excel you're using.

Hope that gets you started.

So, what do you need help with? That's about the most basic chart one can make. Where are you stuck?
