Does anybody have any ideas what may causing the following (and any remedies, perhaps)?

When I have pictures pasted in a Word or Excel document, I have troubles viewing it when scrolling around the document.

Sometimes the object disappears totally and I have to click around the area where it should be for it to pop up. Sometimes the object seems to have shifted, but again clicking in the general zone brings it to where it should be.

It is a frustrating thing.

I am using Office2003 at work and running on Windows2000.

I also use Office2003 at home running on Window XP and I have no such issues there.

Thanks for any advice.

Excel Facts

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
this works for me...

Office 2000/Win XP SP2 at home, Office 2003/Win2000 at work

insert the picture in a text box (the box will automatically size correctly)
then right click on the text box frame, pick 'format text box' from the drop down menu, pick the Layout tab, and click the advanced button.

pick vertical & Horizontal positioning as required, and (this is the important bit) pick the 'Move Object with text' and 'Lock Anchor' checkboxes.

this works woth my daughter's graphic design dissertation containing approx 50 images - mainly JPEGs with a few PNGs and BMPs

Thanks for the reply.

Your suggestion does work, thanks.

My only thing is, is this normal? Is it a Win2000/Office 2003 combo problem?

It seems to be a lot of work to do for each pic I paste. I even have to go further and remove the line that makes up the text frame border, because then that travels around when I start scrolling, even though the picture stays put.

Does anyone else experience this?
