Hi all,

I just got a new laptop, so when inputting all my old macros again (tedious) I expected to see the option of saving them into my personal workbook, but it wasnt there. I have creasted an excel file in XLstart called Personal.xls, but it still doesnt come up - what am I doing wrong - I need my macros!!

Thanks,

BB

Excel Facts

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.
If your new laptop came with a newer version of Excel (2007 onwards) then macro-enabled workbooks have the file extension ".xlsm". Maybe that's got something to do with it.

Although, it's still puzzling why the personal macro workbook hasn't been produced automatically.

Thanks,

I actually had it saved as a macro enable workbook. Once I changed it to a normal excel file, I get the option to save the macros to the personal workbook!

Just a couple of ideas

1) the personal address book in 2007/2010 has a file extension of xlsb

2) when I had the problem on my old laptop with 2007 I had to put a copy in the program file...

For Excel 2010:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\XLSTART\

For Excel 2007:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\XLSTART\
