Saving personal macro book in VB Editor by:
Select "File" then "Save" Personal.XLSB.

However when going to the folder for the personal macro book:
C:\Users\jjohn\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART

The saving date of the personal macro book has not been updated to todays date.

I some times experience after having saved the personal macro book, if excel crashes the updates have not been saved.

What is the best way of saving the personal macro book and taking backups of the file...

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
I use this quite a lot. Any changes I make I save straight away by clicking the save icon in the VB editor section. If I forget, I always get prompted to save.

I back up using a batch file daily that copies it to my company's network storage (which gets backed up nightly too).

Never had an issue with it not saving though.

The save options in the VBE aren't particularly reliable, in my opinion. I generally add a save routine to any code workbook that basically just contains:

Code:
Thisworkbook.Save

and then run that whenever I need to save.
