Permissions to users on other machines

I'm using Excel 2013. I want the unlocked ranges to only be editable by me.
I will send the file to other users (not on my domain/machine) and they should be able to open the file, but for read-only. Some of the users are using different OS (I'm using a Mac, they may be using Windows).

The "Allow Users to Edit Ranges" option does not allow to specify users not on my machine, so I cannot address users who will receive this file for viewing only.

What strategies can you offer for this situation?

Thanks!
Mor

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
I'm using windows, don't know if the same options are available in Mac?

Save the File using the SaveAs option. Select the filepath/name that you want to save it to. Before clicking Save, click Tools then General Options. Leave Password to Open blank, and enter a Password to Modify. Then save.

You can send the file out. The user will be prompted to enter the password, if they don't know it, they will only get the read-only version.
