Performance issues on laptop

Hi all,

I am currently running Microsoft Access 2013 32 bit on a Laptop With 8GB 1600 MHz RAM and a Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4300M CPU @2.60 2.59 and HDD harddrives.

The performance is awful in comparison to desktop computer I normally use.

IT says the laptop is very performant and a desktop won't bring much, but I have no way of telling that the current specifications are bad for my use. Therefore it is word against word, until I know sufficent enough to argue on a specification level.

This also brings me to the question, which specs are most important to get Access running smoothly?

Tried, but the analyzer didn't find any room for improvement.

Do you think hardware could be the reason for the awful performance or do you suspect anything else?
