Percentage Formula Driving Me ....

Hi All,

I have total units of 787 (J3) & errors of 5 (N3), cell formatted to % .

Formula I Cell O3 : = N3/J3 , answer in my opinion should be around 98% , why is my
formula displaying 1 % ???


Sorry if this sounds daft … but its driving me mad !

5 / 787 = .00635
.00635 * 100 = .6 or ~ 1%

Is this your problem? If those are your values in those cells, it seems to me like the math works out. A little clarification may be necessary.

=1-(N3/J3)

The figure of 5 is the number of errors and the 787 is units supplied so I would like to calculate the accuracy level between the two figures.

So the answer you are looking for is technically 100% - ~1%. This can be done with Fluff's formula.
