PDF to Word - suggestions please..............

I have a pdf file that was saved as a word file, BUT when I go into the file it comes up as a picture image. Is there a way to convert this picture image to "editable" text? I have tried the document paper capture in adobe and then did a file save as "doc", but it was ugly. By way this document is 130 pages, I will be burning midnight oil for days to come if I have to retype! Thanks for any suggestions
