Unfortunately Acrobat Pro XI was a paid version. And yes it can convert PDF to other formats.
Adobe Reader on the other hand cannot convert PDF. At least as it is available for download. It offers you a command to convert but when you click it you will be redirected to a website to buy a tool.
It's been a while when I tried to find a free PDF converter but I haven't been able to find tools other than free/paid online converters or offline (installed on you computer) but also paid.
Of course I wouldn't recommend free online tools as noone knows what happens with documents uploaded to those websites.
However if there is such free offline tool for PDF converting I'd also like to know.
