I have been thinking about upgrading/replaceing my current computer lately and had a question regarding memory.

My current motherboard is an Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe

Everything I have found regarind my board says it supports DDR 200,266,333,366,400 (433,466,500 with a Rev. E AMD proc or later)

Does this mean my board only supports DDR1?
If not how do I know/where should I have looked to find out if it supports DDR2 or higher?

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
Hi

It's highly unlikely it will suppot DDR2 unless you have another set of memory sockets (DDR1 and 2 use different number of pins I believe).

Go to the Crucial website and check their Memory Selector tool - that will tell you what memory your board will support.

Thanks for the website info. No it doesn't support DDR2, I didn't even know about the PIN count difference or that would have been a dead giveaway from the start. And that crucial site will definatly come in handy as i spec out my new box.
